Before The Dance: Portraits of Musicians & Their Home Studios

Music as an art form is a universal language, existing outside of the bounds of words and ideas. It can be a transcendental experience to dance the night away, dropping egos and connecting with oneself and others on the ephemeral landscape of a dance floor. For ages, stories have been told about this extraordinary power of music and dance to change the course of one’s life. But who is curating and creating the music, and where is this magic coming from? This project was an attempt to document the essence of such creators and the spaces where their work originates. It offers a brief glimpse into the aesthetic background of music through the lens of four unique artists who have adapted their homes in the spirit of creation. These images are landscapes from which soundscapes are born.
